Class Texts:

Reading is incredibly important. Through reading, children are exposed to a wide range of words. This helps them build their own vocabulary, develop their language skills and improve their understanding when they listen. The more they read, the better they become at the skill of reading. Reading exercises the brain and improves the concentration, it teaches children about the world around them, it develops the imagination and develops skills such as empathy. It helps them navigate all subjects and is a great form of entertainment; relaxing the body and calming the mind.  


Throughout each year, children read and immerse themselves in class texts that are then used to develop comprehension skills and stimulate writing. This year our pupils will read:
